Cruise indicator

Featured Replies

Hi, wife has a company octyII 1.9 TDI with cruise and when it's turned on, the cruise indicator will appear in the control panel. Mine vRS also has a cruise, bet there is no indicator. Could it be burned out? :confused:

No, your car is probably older model year which didn't have the light. I think the cruise indicator light is on cars from model year 2007 onwards.

i've noticed the same thing on my 05 elegance, this morning i could see the indicator in the dash but it doesn't light up when cruise is on. Does that mean it doesn't work or that it only 07 cars engage the dash indicator?

It's a feature of newer dashpods.

I didn't have it either in my previous non-maxidot dashpod on '05 Elegance, but now I have a '07 maxidot dashpod on the same car, it shows the cruise indicator when cruise is enabled. The original dashpod did have the indicator in the dash, but it didn't light up.

i've got a maxidot, i want the little light!!! maybe it's the result of some kind of firmware upgrade or something?

Mine has one and its a vRS 2006;)

'twas introduced with MY2006, both Maxidot & Standard pods...

Interesting because my car is a 2006 MY and doesn't have it.

All the fun.

Are you sure? If the car is manufactured after 05/2006 it's model year 2007.

I'm pretty sure the cruise indicator light was from MY2007 onwards, it was added at the same time as when MaxiDot got some more options.

..whereas mine is June 06, and DOES have the light, so that makes sense.

Is the 9th digit of your chassis number a 6 or 7?

6 = 06 model

7 = 07 model.

The 9th digit on my MY06 is 1 (I've even counted to 9 twice to double check!) and it has the Cruise light on the dash pod :confused:

it might need an ecu reflash , my vrs is an early 06 and and got a reflash last week off the dealers.:thumbup:

That doesn't affect the CC light though.

My Elegance was a late MY06 and didn't have the light, my L&K is an MY08 and does have the light.

Why the hell didn't they all have the light from day one??

do you need to code anything to allow the light in a newer dash?

I've got an 06 and it doesn't have a light.

Our 06 doesn't have a light - hoping the new 08 one will!
