warranty running out

Featured Replies

hi all,

my vRS is now booked in for its service and MOT. the warranty runs out at the end of june.

is there any advice etc that you can give me. should i look at certain things incase of failure or wear before the warrant runs out. (the car has done 20k)

cheers

Kenny,

I think someone else posted that question some time ago. There were a few answers IIRC. Maybe try searching for it?

Sorry, can't think of anything else. :(

Coil Packs, Clutch master cylinder, Worn seats etc etc etc

Instruct the garage to fix anything they can do under warranty :)

Get someone do do a full VAG-COM run on your car, and take the print off, with any faults highlighted, when you book the car in.

Very useful on sister in laws Fabia's air con sorted before warranty expired

SJL would the garage do that at the service?

what are the symptoms of the clutch master cylinder failing?

The problem is the clutch pedal staying/sticking down when the weather is very cold. There is a modified clutch master cylinder which doesn't suffer from this. If you haven't experienced this happening then don't worry about it.

Q, that's a very insightful comment.

I've found that when I remove the key the engine goes quiet. Do you think the 2 events could be related somehow ?

no forgiveness!!!!!! :(

afterall you meant it :D

My warranty is about to go bye bye, although in July. Mines on variable and wont need its next service till after the warranty has run out, so I'll be checking things myself.

Kenny, dont forget in addition to the warranty running out you will also loose the AA cover that was part of the warranty.

A good tip is to get the first MOT done early so that any major problems it turns up can be fixed under warranty if covered.

Quick question, thanks to Manny's comment. Does the AA membership last for 3 years or for the life of the warranty (3/60) on the newer cars?

AA membership lasts for 3 years.

Pretty sure it is 3 years as well.
