vRS/Elegance suspension measurements

Featured Replies

Can someone clear something up for me please? If I get a suspension kit for my Octy 1.8T Elegance that claims to lower it by 30mm, will it then be lower than a standard vRS? I've heard/read/bloke in the pub told me, that the vRS is only 12mm lower than a standard Octy? This can't be right can it? I look at mine and then at a vRS and there's defo more than 12mm difference, or is there? Hmmm, it's a head twister.

I've got vRS Spider alloys and 225/45 tyres on mine so I don't think it's a 'bigger-wheel' optical illusion. The reason I wanted to know was, I think the standard vRS sits just nice and I don't want to take mine into low-rider territory, just want to make it sleeker (and handle better obviously). 30mm seemed like it would be just right because I assumed the vRS was 30mm lower, not 12mm. Help!

If i remember correctly a vrs is 35mm lower than a standard octavia.

The vRS is quiet a bit lower than normal, if you fit the elegance 30mm lowering kit your ride height will be higher than now.

Thanks for this. I thought that 12mm figure was wrong. I've actually got an Elegance 1.8T Hatchback and I will be fitting a Koni 30mm lowering kit. Basically, it seems the 30mm lowering will bring it pretty much in line with the vRS, which is what I wanted.

One other question, if you don't mind, will a vRS suspension kit fit straight on my Elegance, and are there any issues with this? I thought the engines were same so there shouldn't be a spring load problem, but what about the fitting holes etc..

Thanks

I've actually got an Elegance, not a vRS, so the kit would be for lowering the Elegance to approx the same ride height as the vRS.
