Thanks.

Looks like i need the control relays aswell.Drawings arnt very clear but thats what it looks like to me.

If you save the pics and then zoom in a bit you can just about make out the diagrams.

J131 & 132 look to be the seat control units like you said.

Did you get leather seats from an Octavia L&K or leather Recaros?

They came from an octavia 2002 l&k so should be the same wiring as any mk1 octavia with heated seats.

I was looking at fitting heated seats in mine and did a bit of research ,the system in an octavia is similar to that in a mk3 golf, some polos (9N) and transporters and some passats .there are companies in germany (on ebay ) which do retrofit "sitzheizung kabelbaum", seatheatingcablelooms but not for octavias .the system used has separate switches and temperature controls in the dash controlling relays in the relay plate by the steering coloumn ,later golfs and passats use a combined control and relay in the dash .

With this wiring loom you will also need two seat heating relays .I have not had time to work out the best loom to use but the firm that advertises them may be able to help

Had a look at these kits just need to find the right one.And i dont speak german

is the leather on these OEM heated seats any different from regular leather? my back burns on a long city commute as if it is some synthetic material (with AC on, and it is not very hot outside)

i live in the tropics and they could have sold a cheaper L&K without the heated seats.

Try emailing the company KUFATEC GmbH they speak english and some of their website is in english as well ,they supplied someone else with a loom to fit audi S3 heated and electric seats in an octy .Be careful of some of the sellers on ebay as the photographs are not always of the item you are buying .

The loom you need may come in 2 or 3 parts ,if it follows the pattern for the passat and t4

also beware the t4 ones as some were only fitted with seat heating for the driver !

If you do get this working I would be interested in the details .

Are the heated seats "always on" then? The only car I've ever been in with then was a Honda, and they had on-off switches.

No, in a factory fitted octy, the blank switch plate between the rear window demister and ASR switch would have two rotator potentiometers to control driver and passenger seats. Plenty of space behind here to fit and wire in the correct switch.

In answer to the original question, have you tried Skoda Parts to see if there is a standalone wiring loom for the heated seats and dash board switch?
