The famous 17705 & 17545 !!

Featured Replies

Recently had a vag-com scan and found these two faults, done a search and seems these codes are very popular! The 17705 code seems like it could be a number of things from split hoses, n75, dv, n279. throttle body and so!

So where to start? I might change the n75 first, and then may be the dv, how loud should a standard dv be? Mine seems quite loud, also car is surging between 1k -2k rpm on light throttle, feels like lots of boost low down the range but feels like it spike's alot.

Not to sure about the 17545- long term fuel trim add bank 1 system to rich. ?

The 17545- long term fuel trim add bank 1 system too rich is telling you that it is rich at idle. If there was a vacuum leak (split breather hose) I would expect it to be lean - it will be sucking in unmetred air.

You need to think of what will make it rich at idle, choked air filter, dribbling fuel injectors and the MAF over reading the amount air going into the engine spring to mind.

Thanks for that mate, i will look it to that. Dont think it will be the air filter, fairly new piperx one. Could be the maf, what about the 17705 is that connect to the other code.

As for the connection between the codes, there is nothing in common in the links above. It may depend on whether the pressure is actually measured at two points hence the 17705, or whether it is calculated at one point using the MAF reading and measured at another point.
