I'm still awaiting delivery of my new vRS Octavia (petrol) and have been looking at aftermarket exhausts (mainly Milltek)

What are peoples experiences of these? Are they worth £400+? Is my money better spent elsewhere?

In the tyre and exhaust game myself and after purchasing the Milltek system for my Octy i am well happy with the build quality and finish:thumbup:The only problem was getting the twin pipe to sit straight in the bumper

Depends on what your after really.

A remap will give you more power per ££ but ive got a Milltek on mine my vRS (MK1) and worth every penny IMO

New exhausts are worth it if you're planing to get more then 250bhp in the end. Below that a simple remap, and maby another air filter, is all you need.

However, the sound can be woth every penny.

you could try alba tyres, they do custom made backboxes at very good prices, had one on my rover, cracking sound

I would like a new cat back and 100/200 cel cat at some point, but not sure I can justify the £600+ cost.

Can also be an investment if you're keeping the car a long time as stainless steel exhausts tend to be guaranteed for the life of the vehicle (or 25 years! ) so you won't be shelling out for new exhaust bits every few years due to rusting.
