I have a 2001 TDI Octavia 110, which was acting up now and then (going into limp mode), when I pushed it hard, turning the engine on/off restored the turbo. Now it's stuck in limp mode, you can hear the turbo thou, but it won't rev past 2k rpm (in gear) and it's really slow. I've pulled the following fault codes, but I don't have means to clear them :(

Will clearing the codes restore things back to normal, or is this serious ?

16485 P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Range/Performance

17563 P1155 Manifold Abs.Pressure Sensor Circ. Short to B+

17965 P1557 Charge Pressure Contr. Positive Deviation

Thanks for the help.

Baz.

I think it might be yet another case of stuck VVT vanes; try running a search.

The other thing to try would be disconnecting the MAF (wires just visible on intake duct at edge of obsfurcation cover. If the running improves, replace the MAF.

Baz.

I think it does yes. As before, the test is to disconnect the MAF. If it runs better (or at least no worse) with the MAF disconnected, replace the MAF, and clear fault codes.

and check the MAF is actually connected properly.... maybe a loose cable/poor connection

Don,t forget to do the "Cage Mod" after as well (find details if you search on here)

It was the MAF :) However, I still get the following error when I boot it hard past 3k, shuts the turbo down :(

17565 P1157 Manifold Abs.Pressure Sensor Circ. Power Supply Malfunction

Any ideas ?

Cheers, Baz. BTW I think this car has been re mapped....

:D
