9mm EGR Valve Gasket

Featured Replies

Hi all

I took my vRS SE into the dealer for its 10k service before Christmas and mentioned that I wanted them to sort the 'stutter' out. I got the car back and the service manager told me they'd sorted it out as best they could by tweaking the ECU.

All this did was move the stutter down a few hundred RPM. I assumed they'd have also swapped the 25mm gasket for a 9mm one drilled out to 14.5mm as recommended by Skoda.

Well, I was tired of the stutter so ordered the 9mm gasket for about £1.60 and fitted it myself in about 10 minuted (a bit awkward to get to at first!). To my suprise, the gasket I removed was a 25mm one. Why would they not have changed it to 14.5mm as recommended by Skoda!? It's hardly and expensive modification.

Anywho, I've had the new gasket in for a week now, and it's made the world of differece. The stutter took the edge off what should have always been a great car. Now, the power delivery is smooth and hesitation free.

For anyone who hasn't done this, it's the best modification per £ out there, no doubt!
