Headlamp bulbs - which ones?

Featured Replies

The dipped lights on both sides have gone (the big lightswith the lens or the outer edge of the light) - what is the model No. of the bulb I need. Ib buying the 50% brighter ones from Halfords, so need the reight No.

Cheers.

need answer in next 2 hours!!!!

You want H7 fitment.

IMO Philips are best, Halfrauds? well you get what you pay for!

I opted for the PHILIPS H7 VISION PLUS HEADLIGHT BULBS 55W +50% UPGRADE as i didn't want ANY blue tint to them at all.

halfords want £40 for a pair! - found somwhere else that has bulbs branded as unipart for 18 / pair - 50% brighter.

Another place says they have bulbe which are 100% brighter - hmm, sounds dodgy to me

Halfords normally charge £40 a pair for their SB bulbs, but they are currently on buy one get one free so are £20 a pair.

I picked the Xtreme +80% over these - light is still nice and white like the Vision Plus but output is noticeably better, imho. :D

I ended up getting a pair or 50% brighter ones from a local motor factor for £8.08 and Bognor Motors fitted them for free (great dealer)

Cant say I have tried them as only driven in daytime.

I may invest in the Osram Nightbreakers which are 90% brighter than standard.

I know dipped are H7, but what do I need for the fogs and main beam and the side lights?

Cheers,

PS - I could not use that link above as my membership wont allow it?

What bulbs do i need if I want clear side lights rather than my current yellow ones? Car is a superb elegance with factory bi xenons.

Thanks

Pretty sure they're W5W's but best wait for that to be confirmed :D

The sidelights are 501 capless bulbs, for a nice bright white bulb go for the Philips Bluevision 5w.

Main beam and fogs are both H3, don't bother with uprating the fogs as it is a waste of money - you don't want (let alone need) an uprated bulb in a fog light otherwise you make them almost useless in the fog as they are too bright, so just scatter the light on the fog, blinding you.
