hi we have an octavia diesel 2005 with the usual ticking coming from the hazard switch. i have replaced the hazard switch with a new one also replaced the indicator switch . however the hazard switch is still ticking, any ideas or suggestions?

I would say the indicator switch, but you say that you have already replaced it. You could try some electrical contact cleaner sprayed into its base to see if it makes any difference.

I thought they all did that, when the indicator lights are on?

unless he means it is ticking when he has not enabled the hazard switch, or either the left/right indicators.

Are you sure it is the hazzard switch that is ticking,if you have climatronic it could be a faulty control flap that is making the ticking noise. Or it could be a leaf that has found its way into one of the vents.

the car is a base tdi, and the ticking definately comes from the hazard switch all the time, skoda dealer said its a common fault and its the hazard switch which is at fault so i bought a new one £29 but that didnt work so the dealers have no idea either about the ticking hazard switch or the heater glow plug warning light flashing. seems its a common fault on the VW and Audi cars as well. you would think if its so common the dealers would do a recall and fix it:confused:
