Cheapest 40K Octy service so far

Featured Replies

Just had my 40K service done at Meadens Skoda of Sway and payed £261.08 which i think is very cheap!!

The bill was as follows:

Labour £123.50

Workshop sundries £2.50

Enviroment waste disposal £4.25

Screen wash £1.67

5w/40 PD oil £33.75

sump plug £0.99

pollen filter £13.13

air filter £11.30

fuel filter £20.35

oil filter £4.80

loan car £5.96

VAT £38.88

Total £ 261.08

I thought that was quite cheap for a dealer and service was 100% from staff.

Very reasonable, I paid about £280 at a 'specialist' for an 80K - they obviously hoped you would tell your mates!

My 80k is due around now and I have been quoted £273 inc VAT from a Skoda Steeler. which was the cheapest I found local. so seems very reasonable.

ive had a few quotes recently and the highest was £400 including have standard front discs and pads at the same time.

bought the bits myself for a lot less but means i have to get diiirty though!!

No plugs?

no plugs because the OPs car is a diesel.

I'm having a slow day today.... lol

Not bad at all; how many hours does that represent for labour?

I have to say I think meadens are great and travel a long way to get to them over westover or other dealers in my areas.

I had mine done by them not long before that, but after some haggling paid even less for a variable service, albeit on a MK II which takes less oil.

I reckon that would be maybe 1 and half hours work £65ph?? not sure.

There original quote was £298 all in so i thought this price was even better.

Never in the cars life will it go back to Westover Skoda they have completely f*cked the car up at its 30000 service.

Cannot praise Meadens enough

Cheers; I'm looking at a 40k later in the year, and charge time gave me a better idea how much I'd be looking at in Glasgow than the amount did.

pollen and dust filter: £8.46

brake fluid: £5.00

Yeah, I can't believe westover still have their dealership as they have been unbelievably sh*te since I had my MK I and haven't improved even after the grovling letter. They still don't call back etc.
