RS original xenon autoleveling

Featured Replies

Hi

My Fabia RS has original xenon installation, but I am not sure that the autolevelling is working. If I'm putting some load on the rear axle, the beam is not descending (with the engine on). When I'm starting the xenons the lights are not moving from down->up as I saw that most VAG models do. There are no system errors on the VAG-COM, the rear sensor gives the information about the angles, but seems like nothing is moving!

Has the autolevelling something with the car's speed?

Can anyone tell me exactly how his original installlation is performing?

I need also the original ballast code to compare with mine

Thanks

AFAIK Levelling takes place once every cycle of Start/Lights on, It's not a continuous thing.

And the levelling takes place within the lamp, So outwardly there's no signs of it taking place unlike Fords and Jags where the whole reflector assy' moves up & down before settling. The only way to check is to park up against a flat surface, Start engine and turn on lights and watch the beam cut-off you should see it raise & lower, But we're only talking a few mm's

It levels whilst driving too, well at least it used to before it stopped behaving :P

My ballasts are exactly the same like the ones from Mike's pictures....so ...OEM

But....no sign of autolevelling on the house wall, at night, with engine on, and with 2 persons loaded on the rear sits....

Is it working only when the wheels are spinning ????? I've checked the wiring diagram of the levelling circuit and there is soome connection with the speed

Any other opinion?

p.s. it seems to be some wire linked to the tacho or something (I am not specialist)

There is a sensor on the rear axle to provide inputs to the system

I know very well the parts and how the system components are linked. I wish to know from someone's experience how the adjustment is working...

....when and in which conditions it's self-levelling (not in theory)
