O.K this is strange I have to introduce myself before I can post any messages ... ...bit strange as I'm already registered?

Well I'm the owner of a 2000 Octavia 1.6L GLX. I was happy with the Skoda however the constant problems with door locks, central locking, throttle housing, and cheap plastic bit which are part of the window system are slowing but surely killing my enthusiasm for Skoda! So there :confused:

Is the age of the car related to the current v1989 update issues?

Just wondering if the age of the car, and therefore the Infotainment unit, is a contributing factor when it comes to the current issues people are having when installing the latest v1989 software update? Is it worth commenting on here if you have had issues or not and what age your car is to try and see if there is a relationship between the age of the car and whether issues have arisen?

Hi! Octavia vRS TDI 2015 - For a while I've been experiencing constant DPF regens - the idle tick over constantly sits at 1K with the radiator fans running for a while after the ignition is turned off. I drive motorway miles daily so it's not a symptom of short trips although on longer 2 trip ~2hrs the Particle Filter warning will appear but clears after ignition reset. I've noticed the regens are having a massive impact on fuel economy (only managing ~350 miles on a full tank when previously

Octy 2 1.4TSI ESTATE CAXA Quite uncertain where to enter this question. The keyfob#1 has started to cause serious problems with the car alarm system. So far keyfob#2 is working with no problem. Car alarm starting randomly and only disconnecting the battery helped. Yesterday the alarm kept sounding/flashing even when the engine was running - undrivable. Is there a home cure whereby I can remap/reset the key fob? My very helpful auto sparks is unable to help

I thought it would be useful to create this separate topic and collate information as now Infotainment Software Version 1969 is out in the wild I imagine user interest will increase. All credit to those who posted information in other threads - I hopefully have credited you all where necessary. Feel free to comment on your own experiences and observations.
