Dump Valve octy vRS

Featured Replies

Hello,

I understand a 'louder' uprated dumpvalve for an octy vrs is avalible for around

joel, its a piece of cake. Just make sure you have the necessary P clips before you start. The ones fitted already are of the use once only variety.

Simply disconnect the 2 pipes, then remove from the air intake, remove the old one, replace the clips on the pipes, and fit the new one.

Not sure whether P clips are the same as jubilee clips but you can use jubilee clips as well.

I don't really think you can say a DV is loud...it's the airbox which makes the biggest difference noise wise.

The standard airbox is closed and the DV venting does so in the airbox. A CAI kit is basically a filter plumbed onto the MAF housing so when the DV vents it vents into the atmosphere, practically. So you get to hear it more.

Would say that bot the Bailey and Forge are louder than OEM DV but with the standard airbox you won't hear the venting as much as I think you'd like.

ok so if i got a cone air filter and did away with the air box this would expose the DV so you coudl hear it more...

im such a newbie when it comes to this....you may have noticed

Yep, thats about it. Just avoid an oiled cone filter as these damage the maf. Various kits are available for the octy, avoid the golf ones because they dont fit to well.

if you can go for a universal stainless cone filter from quickshift racing, all the need to know if the neck diameter of the intake to the MAF, then you simply bolt the filter on, the plus point is they dont use oil and only need a rinse under the tap for cleaning, they also look and sound the dogs danglies.

The main reason alot of us have change the DV or Recirc valve in the 20v T's case is cause the after market onces are of better quality thatn the OE part.

I went with the Forge DV and K&N 57i induction kit. Great noise off it. Very lightly oiled as well and the tuning company who fitted it reckon I will get 20k out of it before I need to clean and oil it again.

Hyperboost is quite a good sound, bu then a DV is a DV unless you get race ones.

A drop in replacement panel would also accentuate the sound of the stock one. A k&n drop in is a popular choice aswell, also retains oem look. Unless you have the cash spare, in which case ABD or Carbinio or DynaTwist are good choices...each as good as each other.
