I have gone back Mk1 then mk2 now a mk1 all Octavias

First one was an 02 1.9 Tdi estate elegance dark green

Second was 06 2.0 Tdi hatch elegance black

going to order a race blue vrs tdi hatch in May

currently have 52 1.6 ambient hatch silver

bought for a steal £1000 from the father in law just as a stop gap

Well I went from a Mk1 pre facelift 1.8T slxi (in spec , similar to an L&K with full leather , heated seats etc) to a Mk1 post facelift vRS. I loved both my Octavias and would have another no problem at all. Currently running a pretty basic Fabia and I'd have another one of those as well....I'd even have a Roomster!!

The Roomster is so under rated - I hired one in France last year - and I am convinced that there is more rear leg room than in the Octavia II . Now that I have seen the Fabia Estate it is also no longer the ugliest Skoda .

Does anyone know how to remove the plastic vents for heating the rear passenger footwells under the front seats of the Octavia ? They restrict foot room under the front seat massively .

I too went to Ford main dealers in B'ham and requested just to look at a Mondeo estate , and was curtly told that if I wanted to look at one then I had to book an appointment in the week when the sales manager's wife was not using it -

honest !

Ford dealers are a joke! They need to take a good look at their dealer network and sort it out.

I had my first fondle of VW products with my S3 alongside a Golf V5, then the Leon and now the Octy II VRs. There was a MK2 Gti 8v in the mix as well. Since the Audi I had one (2nd car) no VW and it was a dog of a Pug HDi. I'd be happy to buy Skoda again but probably with a closer better understanding of the options list first! Might even change the current 08 model Octy for a newer one with more toys!

I probably would have another vRS as ive been delighted with it. I have thought about selling it as ive had it just over 2 yrs now but I honestly cant think or find anything that gives we the flexibility / practicality / reliability of the current car and especially for the price. I would like an Audi RS4 avant but at £50k its a bit on the pricy side!

One thing for sure, if I have another vRS it wont be blue. Dont get me wrong, love the colour but it just stands out too much for my liking as sometimes I have to leave it in not very nice places and also every boy racer wants to have a tear up.

If I did it again I would choose silver, possible an estate too and maybe a diesel??
