He reset it but unfortunately it has come back on today. Has anybody got any ideas of what I could try?

It's too lean at idle, check for air leaks from the breather hoses close to the dip stick.

Mine came on yesterday - looks like my lambda sensor is away (from VAG Com) - will find out on Sat for sure.

I had a quick look at the breather pipe but couldn't hear any hiss. Had a quick feel but it was covered in crap so will have to have a better look at the weekend.
