95' N reg felicia , gear stick has begun to hit the lower edge of opening when changing to 2nd or 4th ?

my old one did that. but only when trying to short shift!!!

Gear linkage becoming dodgy / loose?

I often drive 1st-3rd-5th, its quicker, Im lazy,and why bother to do otherwise, but sometimes the need arises .
