Hi. I have had the airbag warning light on the dash for 18 months now, fault diagnosed as ECU failure.

I have now got a new ECU and was hoping that somebody could advise if this is something i can swap myself or whether the car has to go to garage.

As long as the part number is the same then you should be able to swap it out. Usual precautions of disconncting battery etc.

Also might need VAG-COM to check the coding.

They are usually on the middle of the floor inside the car below where the radio and heater controls are housed.
