I have been slowly persuading my other half that the Fabia estate would make a good next car for her when she replaces her old Renault Clio and was wondering if (in the interests of being fair) anyone can think of any other cars in class which offer the same space/load capacity?

We have 2 dogs who travel happily in the Octavia estate boot but dont really fit properly in the Clio so the chalenge is this... we need a car which is as small on the outside width-ways as a Clio but which has a decent boot (needs to fit up the driveway hence width problem). Up to now I cant think of anything else which would fit the bill and have had her sat happily in the Fabia at the local dealer so it shouldnt be a problem, I just thought I would make an effort to offer other options... or not

Ford Fusion, 206 estate. Thats about it unless you go 2nd hand and/or up a size.
