unknown sid in exchange mailbox rights

Featured Replies

Was wondering if anyone can help with the above?

Dont seem to have problems with people accessing their mailboxes but surely something must be wrong if their UID isnt showing?

Thanks

You've just got a numeric SID showing in some of the permissions screens?

That'll be an account that has been deleted from AD but the permissions are still set on it. If people still have access ok then just delete the orphaned SID

Or do you mean that the name of the person who currently should (and does) have access is not resolving from the SID?

Dr Zoidberg is correct. Just delete the SID from the relevant permissions section.

I thought this was the case but I've just checked and its not. so it does look like its an old account.

cheers guys

Edit. I take it the account "SELF" in the mailbox acl is the account the user users to connect? It has Read and Full mailbox access allowed.

Correct re SELF. And I'm glad to hear it turned out to be a simple problem - from your first description I was a bit worried!
