lol, vey true!!!

am gonna strip my interior (i saw delcacs car today....its minus most of its interior........thats given me my motivation:>).

Need to check it over a couple of weeks without the interior to be sure i find the source of the leak, because the last thing i want to do is get my new sound deadening wet and have to do it all again!

remember to take lots of pics, maybe we could create a 'how to guide':D

yes, i actually meant to do the same thing when i fixed my disconnected washer jet in the back tailgate, it was only after that i realised i hadnt taken any pics. Will do on the carpet strip!

hi

i wasnt aware you could get a dark carpet i knew about the headlining and trims,

thats good for 100 ish, how much would it all cost, carpet and sound deadening? would like 2 replace them too mines mingin

Only the vRS has white carpet, all the others are darker.

Not sure how much sound deadening, but would only need replacing if it smells after water damage.

the dark carpet can be found on other octavias, i was quoted about 120ish including vat, the sound deadening was about 85 inc vat. I am looking for a cheaper replacement hoping it might be better than the standard stuff. A couple of the other members have changed their carpets to the anthracite ones i think.

Just check the water situation and some has got inside the car again, Dam It!

Going to have a look at the B pillar tomorrow as its wet at the bottom of that..

The sunroof drain pipe goes down ther b pillar, The only other thing could be a leaky windscreen it has been known (i had one recently after a relacement).

  • 9 months later...

Or check that water is not getting in through the roof rail gutters as water can run down the a pillars.

Just a thought
