Looking an Octy II with Stream (non MP3) HU

I've seen the "how to wire up the aux" thread.

However, I'm wondering whether the Firmware in the HU

could be flashed through the serial port to make it decode MP3 CDs

or are the insides of newer Stream MP3 totally different?

There is a Stream firmware update as a bulletin.

I don't believe this will allow the playing of MP3's though.

I'm sorry, but could you explain what you mean by "update as a bulletin"?

There were one or two issues with the Stream HU which were fixed by a dealer firmware update.

To answer your original question I wouldn't think so.
