Ps3?

Featured Replies

Since we got a nice 26" LCD tv for the bedroom i have been thinking about one mainly for playing movies on.

I would like to know if it is possible to record tv programs to the hard disk,so i can use it as a recorder for digital tv.

This would sway the wife into wanting one.

dont think its possible mate with dual booting it with linux

Play TV was announced in August last year, but has not been released here in the UK yet. It's scheduled for "Early 2008" This turns the PS3 into a DVB digital terrestrial receiver and makes it possible to use the PS3's HD as a PVR.

Cheers.

May get one soon then.

I use my PS3 to stream all of my music collection from the Hard drive of my PC, I also use it to stream TV programs from my PC that have been downloaded off the internet, some of the High Def TV programs that you can get now are better quality than normal broadcast terrestrial TV.

In my opinion the PS3 is a great media device first and a games console second.

Carlos.

As PittVRS says PlayTV is in the pipeline - there was mention of using MythTV with USB TV adapters on another forum but I couldn't find confirmation of anyone actually egtting it to work.
