But I want to try it out on a second hand grill set (doesn't have to be vRS).

Any comments / pearls of wisdom welcome... especially if they have anything to do with grills :)

hi mate im planning the same, ive been on the lookout for a spare grille but havent seen any for sale.

maybe someone on here has one. hopefully a few have!

not sure how much they are from the dealer. ill let you know if i find anything out

Grills are expensive from a main dealer - IIRC the chrome effect bit alone is 65 squids! Best bet if you want a grill to practice on is to go down your load scrappy and you will probably pick one up for <

The chrome bit (moulding for grille - chrome) is

How did you get the lower mesh for the bumper??? -I have searched everywhere for something like that, but with no luck at all.

Did you get it customized, or was it in stock from somewhere?

Just take the grill to a body shop, doubt it would cost that much to do?

I know someone with a Tart grill, on a red vRS :D

You want me to go round and prise it off his car?, of course you will need to respray it ;)

It's a dead easy bit of painting if you have the bottle to fettle your one and only chrome effect grill. I did mine fairly easily and found that the best colour match was the diamond black VW paint rather than the Black magic pearl. Even with lacquer, it still looked lighter when put onto plastic.

Take a look at the piccies on http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14761&highlight=cannonball for an Octy, From JH Butt, If you dont mind keeping the Badge any good spray shop should be able to sort the Std Grill for you, If you are anywhere near Southampton PM me as I know a man who can, not the Tricolour Pearlesant of Mine

I don't mind the badge, alothough I'd probably replace it with a carbon vRS one.
