Injured vRS

Featured Replies

I have been a member on here for a while but haven’t posted for a while. Thought I’d share my recent pain with you all though.

Last Friday at about 11am I was travelling along a very busy built up road in Tunbridge Wells, minding my own business doing about 20mph, when a Peugeot 106 came speeding towards me in my lane. She braked, locked up and skidded about 50 yards before hitting me.

I narrowly avoided a head on by swerving but the Pug clipped my rear offside spinning me over the pavement and into a wall.

I was less than happy as you can probably appreciate. The driver was a young girl with three young scummy looking passengers. I called plod, who turned up.

Luckily I had 5 independent witnesses who saw it and said it was her fault and 2 others who saw her speeding further up the road.

Thankfully she is insured and she was reported at the scene for careless and dangerous driving. It turns out she has only been driving since September.

It could have been much worse as it happened about 150 yards from a primary school!

Just got all the hassle of getting my car fixed.

I’ve got a Golf GT Sport to run about in at the moment.

thats a bit of bad luck those young drivers :thumbdwn:

I wouldn't put all young drivers into that category - I'm sure most people here have been guilty of it at some point! ;) It's more inexperience, or more probably the fact that the driver was going too fast for the circumstances and was driving outwith her ability.

Sorry to hear it though, it's never nice. At least no one was hurt, she was insured and you have a load of witnesses. Fingers crossed it'll be back on the road shortly!

What the.....

How did that happen, seems wierd how you got where you was from the pics.

Hope everything is sorted soon, a nice compo claim hopefully for the stress and hassle.

Women drivers!!

Sorry to hear what happened mate.

Hope the damage isn't as bad as it looks.

It was on a very slight bend. She hit my rear offside casuing me to spin 180 and I ended up facing the wrong way.

She carried on straight and as you can see she was in my lane!

Not good news and she must have been going a fair old whack :( Hopefully justice will prevail with minimal hassle :D

Chris

It sounds less like inexperience, more like stupidity.

Accident at fault,

Dangerous Driving

She'll be done over for insurance now.

Unlucky with the crash, hope its all sorted promptly.

if i was you i would feel a WHIPLASH claim running my way lol

HINT HINT

My neck and arms began hurting later that day. The pain lasted long enough for me to go to my GP on Monday who has noted them.

repeat post - ignore

That looks quite nasty. Hope you make a good recovery and the cars back on the road soon.

Also interesting to see the little french car has disintegrated..lol. Well built these cheap Skoda's.

Thats looks really bad glad you are ok

Oh man, sorry to see that, but glad you are ok.

Sounds like she shouldn't have been driving full stop - it's terrifying the standard of driving in the UK at the moment :(

Sorry to hear about that mate. Main thing is there were no serious injurues. Its easier to repair or replace cars, could have been worse if it was head on.

Good thing that the other driver was insured, there's alot of people on the roads without any at all.

Look at the state of that pug though lol.

Lucky it wasn't a head on collision,:thumbdwn:

Still bad enough though, feel your pain fella.

Camden road? Must have been going some!

Oh dear - never nice to see. Here's hoping its sorted quickly and with the minimum of inconvenience. At least you've got a reasonable courtesy car in the meantime too.

That rear wheel of yours is at a fair old angle  - must have been a fairly heavy impact....

Steve

looks quite bad, although i would not know i bet that 10 seconds or so of spinning is very terrifying, hopefully all will come good and you will be back up and running in no time.

my mrs got 5k for whiplash a fair few years ago!!!

not all young drivers are bad i started driving at 19 and am 26 this year never been done for speeding and not been at fault in an accident but had three middle age blokes reverse into me while i have been parked up!! so age does matter but we are not all bad.

Thats a dull one, hope the 106 doesnt get fixed and is in a cube soon!

Ive never been involved in an accident with anyone thats been my fault.

Ive put a car into a field and one into a lamppost though, whoops.

But luckly noone else was about.

That was when i was inexperianced (sp?) on the road.

Had a middle aged guy reverse into my car on Sunday when it was parked though, still waiting on insurance company getting back to me.

Hope your motor gets fixed pronto and your ok.

Nice wee cheeky Golf run about though! ;)

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

Just been to the body shop to find out what the quote was.....

...just over £5,000!!!

The damage really is substantial, but atleast it should still be repaired...

The Pug will definitely be written off.

Do keep us posted with any progress :)
