Always nice when a story has a happy ending! :P

So glad to hear a happy ending for your scenario.

I am still waiting for my car to be repaired, (vrs se - i have a thread about it on this forum) it's been in the garage since March 7th when the accident happened but they didnt really evaluate the damage till beginning April. ETA on the repair is 22nd May... not sure what to expect really..alot of parts are to be replaced...

I received a copy of the bill for the hire car through today. £3,600 for 48 days hire!

Promptly passed on to the negligent party's insurance company.

I'm glad that a lot of the stress/worry is over, still need to get a few things finalised but it has really made me think.

As I'm sure you can see from the thread and outcome it was not in any way my fault. The journey was so 'normal'. I was only popping out to collect something. The whole trip would have been about 1.5 miles and taken maybe 20mins with the messing about in the shop.

In the end I never made it to the shop and, well, you know the rest.

My phone's battery was very low so I only managed to get a couple of pictures. I wish I’d been able to take more as I don't think in a situation like this you can have too many.

Also I didn't have a pen/paper handy, relying instead on a nearby traffic warden who gave me a (blank) ticket to scrawl down witness details.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is from now on I'm going to carry a pen and notepad in the car and might even get a cheap camera as well as photos really can help.

Flip, that's a steep bill.

I thought that you had a duty to minimise your incidental costs, hope they stump up for it.

It was the car that the managment compnay got for me. Was meant to be a like for like. i.e similar size and power to my car.

In the hire company's eyes the Golf is comparable, 5 door 140bhp diesel engine.

sorry to see that, hopefully you will get it sorted with no hassles
