Mongrel flew through its MOT

Featured Replies

Although saying that, I've yet to check the advisory list. ;)

Had it confirmed she passed fine, but only after I got a text from my mate telling me it failed and he scrapped it down the local metal merchants, and got £85 for it.:rofl:

At least she can be taxed now.

How did she perform in the smoke test ?

I've seen the report...

Smoke test: Yes - Plenty, pass.

Lets just say to be sure it passed it underwent a minor modification before the test. ;)

A brick under the accelerator pedal?

Methinks a borrowing of Mrs Jones' Micras exhaust pipe tbh...

As hot as a chicken vindaloo. ;) but no masonry was used in this temporary mongrelling. :D

The spinny thing under the peddle ;)

Glad she passed

What mileage she done now?

She's on 63868 according to the certificate. No advisories, and around 2/3 within the limits for the smoke test.

When she reaches 67360 that will be exactly 60k since the conversion was done.

I just found out that no accelerator pedal modifications were done in the end as in the opinion of my mate it was clean enough to pass without, and it did.

Well, technically yes, but I did have lpg and nos boosting that run. It runs around 240 on lpg, as a daily driver. :)

how the hell did it pass the smoke test :o

Congrats.

I guess it's down to boost/fuelling. My car burns a lot more fuel when on boost and under power. Smoke test is done in neutral with the just standing there, so it uses a lot less (enough to pass a smoke test anyway)

If ever smoke tests are done on the run / rolling road, I will be royally screwed. Would need to look into the ultimate of switchable remaps - FULL power boost on one map and nothing more than a glorified limp mode on the other map.

Thats very good then, i bet your car really shifts when it wants to ;)
