Thermometer "Bing"

Featured Replies

Can this be turned off with VAG.com?

It annoys the hell out of me especially with living in the middle of nowhere. Everytime it's 4 degrees, "Bing" goes the car, mocking me with it's irritating noise.

Grr....

I think its a bong - not a bing.

Or perhaps thats just on the Octavia???

It's the most singularly annoying thing about the Fabia.

Especially as it knocks off whatever function you are showing on the computer.

I KNOW it's cold ffs...

I like it :)

Kinda reminds me of being on an airplane. It generally sounds for me on cold days when I come off the motorway and into a housing estate. Do passing cars really heat up a road that much? (presuming that's why the motorway is warmer)

Edit - an yeh, mines more of a soft bong, not annoying at all. Most of the time I don't hear it as the radio is so loud

It freaking annoying.

Made me thought something was wrong with the car when I first heard it... oh no its 4 degrees.. lol

4 1/2 degrees in mine.

Stupid bloody thing.

Unplug the ambeint temp sensor.

Where do you unplug it please?

I like it when you turn on the ignition and it makes no noise but everytime your driving and it bings or bongs, you wonder what the heck it is.

Where do you unplug it please?

I assume its the one down by the front nearside foglight. :) Probably a bumper off job to access properly? Or might be able to whip the front left wheel off and access it from behind the wheelarch lining.

You can remove the for light cover and unplug it.

Obviously you wont have a temp display on the dash and your ac wont work properly.

It's good reminder telling you its cold, even though you walked to the car wrapped up to neck in winter warmers hehe
