TDI 90bhp acceleration lag

Featured Replies

recently bought octavia 1.9 tdi 90bhp (2001) runs very well but on hard acceleration it will fly up to 3000rpm then revs seem to pick up slower after that is this the norm?

a mate has suggested fuel filter, where is this located?

Hi

The fuel filter is located(as you look at front of car with bonnet open) to the left hand side next to the coolant resevoir.

If you do change the fuel filter be prepaired to crank you engine over on the starter for a long time to get the diesel through.

Your problem looks to me that the MAF is playing up. Simple fix for about £60.

dont crank the engine over all day, just fill the fuel filter up to the brim with deisel and it will fire up straight away, they say there self bleeding but they dont seem to work very well, so better off filling up the filters.
