I have just checked my oil consumption on my TDI 110 (51 plate) which works out at 4 Litres over approx 40,000 miles. I use Castrol SLX Longlife 2 for top ups. I am on variable servicing with oil change intervals of approx 25,000 miles as per service indicator. There are no leaks or sweaty gaskets etc Is this about normal? Thanks in advance.

Skoda permit 1 litre per 600 miles.

mine seems to drink abit on long journeys, espically is you give it a hard time, so i ould say your usuage is normal.

That is about right don,t worry even mine is like that at 40000 miles.It drinks a litre between 10000mile services.

I have a octy 1.9 tdi elegance, bought it with 50k on the clock, got it serviced on 60k (timing belt etc.). Car now upto 80 k an I've only had to add half a litre to bring it to the max over the last 20k. Suppose it depends on how it's driven, mine does between 500 and 700 miles a week at 90 mph. Still averaging just under 50 mpg for that, hence well happy

mines a 2.0 petrol and i use about 1 litre every 2.5k

They may say that , but it's hardly normal behaviour at all.

My mk TDI used very little oil and only needed about half a litre between 10k services
