Refining the engine performance

Featured Replies

HI all i am constantly thinking ways of how to make my Felicia a bit better especially the engine. I would like t tune it a bit , dont want ot spend a lot of money on such a car. i thought of the following modifications.

My engine is a (135)

either putt a low pressure turbo and install a cone filter plus puttin in some performance spark plugs anc changing the exhaust factorty pipe because its too narrow.

or else

lower the cylinder head and replacing the pistons with the ones of the (136) high pressure and putting a cone filter, and a better exhaust.

could anyone give me a lead on what to do best?

ARE THERE ANY MECHANICS WHO CAN HELP

thanks for your help

Adding a turbocharger to any engine, especially one like this that never had one fitted to any version as standard, isn't a bit of gentle tuning, it's major surgery. It can certainly be done and people on this board have done it, but it's a seriously different league from putting high performance air filters and spark plugs (both of which will be pretty marginal in performance terms) or a bigger bore exhaust (perhaps slightly more performance but still far from making a rocket sled out of it).

136 pistons and head mods will give an appreciable improvement and this is relatively simple stuff to do. But keep the old pistons anyway in case you do decide to add a blower later!

what size engine are you an about doing this to is it the 1.3mpi? if so what size turbo and where do you get them from ? as i would be interested in doing some thing simular :P

as its a 135 (low comp) i presume its a single point injection.

if so, and you have the fabing kit/skills to do so, i'd stick a small turbo in and a bigger injector in it.

i know some people will say that you need to do this, and that, and custom ecu and forged pistons etc...

but to be honest, its all relative. if your only gunna be pumping a bit more air in, then you dont need a full works kit-car engine build.

however if you do want to do the lot, see:.: ENGITEC :.
