Repair time!

Featured Replies

Hi all, well i have to say it she may rattle but sure as hell she rolls!

After having woes about the state of the clutch on the girl, yet being told it was fine I set off across to france to visit a mate in Andorra. All going well until i hit the A303 headin for the ferry and the back box decides its had enough of being part of the exhaust system. A quick road side repair, consisting of hacking thru the mounting and leaving the box next to the layby bin and off we went. The rest of the trip was fairly un-eventful, as i was promised the clutch held out, although my nerves were fairly well shot by the time i'd negotiated the mountain passes into Andorra and back out again!

the trip took its toll on brake pads, and subsequently disks, but shiney new ones have been ordered along with new back box. unfortunately the parts people i called dont have any rear mounting bittys... anyone know where i can get one ordered from that will make it here by friday/ sat morning at the latest? i'm based just north of b'ham and can travel if anyone has one spare ;)

if you don't mind collecting from Brum

obviously phone first :)

If you mean the rubbers and the little washer that holds it on... i went to the skoda dealer for them. Only cost a few pounds.

Out of interest how much are you paying for your new back-box?

Phil

£25 to 30 for a new back box i'd say

do you mean rubber exhaust hanger and u clamp to attach the backbox? if so you should be able to get this from any good motor factor (not accessories store)
