Forge DV fitted.

Featured Replies

I fitted the DV yesterday, so thought I'd post up a wee thread...

Took about 2 hrs to fit the valve, and took a couple of pics that may be of help to someone in the future...

I found the best way of mounting the valve was so you mount the solenoid bracket on the lower bolt on the DV mount on the turbo.

In order to fit it in the space best as possible, I cut the hoses to give the below configuration. Its quite fiddly to get exact, but very important so you don't end up with kinks in the hoses. :)

Hope these help.

And you need to cut the end barb off of this vacuum pipe...

Not noticed any difference when driving whatsoever, but wouldn't expect to with it being a standard car. Sounds just like standard too. However, this shouldn't fail when the car is mapped, unlike the OEM valve which is known for splitting. :)

good work Tom, it seems you are doing everything to your vRS that intend to do (swmbo permitting!) so keeping tracks of your works in progress and looking forward to reports on the outcomes - ie how wide the grin becomes!

Don't know about the vRS, but in days gone by, when i first fitted a forge to my ibiza, i noticed better pick up after gear changes....

Cheers, but its hardly a guide. I did take a few pics of it insitu etc, but tbh they came out pants - and Forge's instructions are pretty comprehensive. I'll pop the engine cover off and take a pic of my vacuum hose routing though and how its secured incase anybody struggles... ;)

And cheers Stu :)

I think any difference on a standard car will be extremely subtle, if non-existant, imho. As said, the only reason I've fitted this is for durability when I get the car mapped. :) I'm still keeping an eye open for an alternative solution though, but this will do for now ;)

They used to fail on std cars even before mapping. Manifold verses piston design. Suprised you have not noticed a difference :(.

You might still have to service it occasionally though as they have known to get stuck. Guides avaialble on forges website though
