Overclocking question

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just a question that I hope somebody can answer.....

I have a spare laptop at home and I was wondering how (if at all possible) I could overclock it to get a bit more out of it for say the folding program?

It's an acer laptop with a Pentium M processor running at 1.79GhZ.

Is it possible and how would I go about it? are there any guides about for this?

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Usually done in the bios, but most laptops are very limited in what you can change in the bios. There are some programs which will overclock through windows I think.

I'm sure someone with a little more knowledge will be able to clarify

Clockgen ....thats the one I was thinking of. It's in the guide above

Wouldn't recommend it for a laptop. There is no way to increase cooling.

Easy on a desktop you just whack on a massive heat sink or a water block.
