Warranty issues

Featured Replies

Hi all, im new, my 07 vrs (18k) does have a stutter at about 1500-2000 rpm if im in traffic, also the rear brakes are noisy as fook, the rear washers have stopped working and just p*ss on the floor (under washer bottle) and some of the laquer on the gear nob is flaking (i dont wear rings or owt) do you think they will fix these problems when it goes in for its second service in about 1K?? or will they fob me off, i bought it from them 2months old with 5k on the clock less than a year ago and they did the first service. (skoda dealer in lancashire)

cheers guys.

All your problems should be sorted under warranty - might be an issue with the stutter (am unsure about this, there are several fixes but am unsure as to how the dealers interpret this) - but the rest are definitely warranty items.

Have a search  They are all well documented issues

Washer pipe may well not be especially due to recent weather. If the washers are used when the jets are frozen then the pipe is going to pop off the motor, hardly Skodas fault. Also depends if they are using the correct concentration of the correct fan jet type screenwwash.

if youre local to lancashire i would recommend simpsons at colne. i took mine there for a few warranty jobs after being royally ****ed about by horners manchester. theyre really obliging and the lady on the service desk is great. you get the impression that no job is too small you know? ive had it go in for bits of rattles and some very minor things but theyve always been great. the only thing they probably wont be able to fix completely is the stutter. i had it though and just used the 9mm gasket fix. never had a problem with it and just havent mentioned it

They should fix all your problems, they might quibble on the gearknob and more likely wont fix the washer jet under warranty.

Unless you happen to use proper Skoda washer fluid (wink wink ;) )

I had the gearknob replaced under warranty. I felt cheeky asking but they replaced it no problem. At the end of the day the warranty covers everything as long as you follow the rules eg dont mod it.

Thanks guys, the car actually came from simpsons in Colne, just didn't want to be seen as taking the p*ss with some of the faults. not really all that bothered about the stutter, its only slight and normally when its cold, but i heard it can affect fuel economy, getting about 52 mpg if i drive steady on a mixed 20 mile drive, normal?
