Couple of answers sort please.

Is the windscreen the same fit , design etc on the VRS as it is on the 1.2, 1.4 cars... as I have been told by Autoglass?

What is the ball park price of an OEM Skoda screen - the dealers cannot price one till next week and I have a 9" crack under the mirror, I think I cannot wait....

A bit of a mine field, good job it's not a 40k BMW etc..... but it is important to me after all..

They all fit - It just depends if you want the bit at the top which helps with glare. I think that's the only differences. The price? Well surely it's just the £50/£60 excess on your insurance policy? Doesn't affect no-claims bonus.

Aye up! ...not necessarily, my insurance company doesn't have a specific screen excess. It comes out of the normal excess - but at £135 its pretty good for other claims...

The only screen I've had to pay outright for (because I was tpft at the time) was for a MK1 MR2 and that was £110 I think. I had to do a bit of ringing round because they varied quite a bit. Ended up using National Mobile Windscreens I think! They were local to my work! And the guy told me to get rid of the car as the A pillars were shot!

A few years ago the dealer price varied between £95 and £104 depending on the spec of the windscreen.

It is in today at a Skoda dealer. Had to pay up front and then I send the invoice to More Than. The dealer spoke to More Than 6 times to get the "story" straight.

Don't know part nos, but after having the wrong one delivered by Autoglass once, I know the correct type for the Fabia vRS is light green tint with sun-strip!

Just a point of note; when I had my windscreen replaced by RAC they asked if I preferred a grey or green sunstrip over the green tint glass.

I went for the green sunstrip but interesting to know if you feel for grey I guess?

The correct combo for the fabia vrs is green tint with a grey band.

LAst time RAC did mine they fitted a green band one, looked rubbish IMO.

so this time they have put the correct screen in Looks loads better

Autoglas replaced mine aswell, when they first came out the guy took one look at the car and said he had the wrong screen as it didnt have the top band, so he called his supervisor and told them i refused to accept it and had a correct one in couple of days, i'm sure i have the grey band.
