Tyres (again!)

Anyone running their vRS on Avon ZZ3's?

If so, what's the verdict?

Wait for the ZV5 from Avon, assimetric tread, nothing but good reports to date....Designed by the motorbike dept; so i would have thought will be better than the ZV3/ZZ3`s (cant get worse)

A couple of friends with Scoobies tried the ZZ3's (they won them in a competition) and they couldn't wear them out soon enough. I think Sharkrider runs them on his Punto and likes them though....

Might throw a cat amoungst the pigeons here but my stepdad has been on at me for ages to get some Avon's he cant praise them enough, he had an Evo IV back in the day (1999ish) and used Pirelli's, Yoko's, Toyo's but nothing in his book compared to the Avon's, now i dont know what they were ZZ2's or 3's but he cannot recommend them highly enough,

He is a good driver also used to do rallying ;)

Go for Hankooks or Kuhmo's

I ran them on the vRS, and they performed very well... good in any conditions,

my vibration (thought it was a wheel bearing) turned out to be the tyre dying... 3 inch gash on the inside (obviously didn't find it until I changed the tyres, then the vibration went away) along the line of where the wall would meet the tread..... tyre bloke said it could have "popped" at any time...

verdict, good grip... would I have them again?! no! don't want a tyre exploding on me!

I got them on front and back and find them very grippy in wet and dry. Nice and quiet tyre also.

I got them for £68 a tyre all in.

Only problem I am finding out is that the fronts don't have much left after 10k.

But for the price I suppose it aint bad. Think I'll be getting them again.

Thanks for all these - something to think about anyway!

Yokohama parada spec 2. cant beat them!!!!!!! abit expensive but i ran them on my john cooper works mini and they were unreal in the wet and dry.... also even the look of them is soooo cool because they look completly different to every other thread pattern

I can't comment on running them on a vrs but my brother in law is running them on his A4 and says they're much quieter and more comfortable and give him much more confidence than his old Khumo Ecsta's.
