Had a Thought, Floorpan

During conversations about 'What you drivin'.

When i tell them a Fabia the usual response is 'It's basically a Polo isn't it'

Now as the Fabia was launched late '99 and the 9N Polo was launched late '01 early '02

Wouldn't it be fair fair to say the 9N is based on the Fabia as is the 6J Ibiza.:D

Your thoughts;)

I don't dare post this on a VAG forum, Wouldn't want to incite a riot.:D

If something similar has been posted before, My apologies:thumbup:

I believe Skoda did "trial" the chassis first so I think you'd be technically correct. The person saying "it's basically a polo" is probably not aware of the timing differences between the release of the various models. :)

Yes it is, Skoda used the platform before VW did. You could incite a bit more trouble by pointing out that Skoda manufacture alot of the 3 cylinder 1.2 engines for the group. And to top it all off, join a Bentley forum and tell them that Skoda made some of the body pressing tools as well.
