Pioneer DEH-P77MP

Nice little unit, seems to have alot of spec for the price and looks smart but not too flashy like some headunits.

Got my adaptor for the facia from Halfords so just waiting for five mins to put it in. Promised the SWMBO that I wasnt thinking of amps and subs, think I may have fibbed to her though ;)

nice one, top unit there buddy

Very nice Ross.

Not fair. All these new head units look much better then my old Kenwood Z828. :thumbdwn:

good choice mate, ive got one in my octy

:) not bad...prefer the alpine stuff though.

Nice choice Ross, the 77MP is becoming a future 'classic' unit. We've just taken delivery of the new DEH-P80MP which looks amazing. RRP is around

Hmm. You're the THIRD BLACK furby vrs with that head unit I know of

We all have amazingly good taste mate :)

Next time we meet, you'll need to have a listen to what amps and proper speakers give you in terms of sonic indulgence ;)

Indeed mate. I had a fair Alpine/Kenwood set up in my Astra and I do miss the clarity.

Anyhow....

All in, only took a few mins. Thanks to Colin G for his advice, I got the aerial amplifier and its all working sweet :)

Only pain was as its now a fair bit better on the bass the drivers door trim started vibrating. Wrestled with that getting it off (stoopid little screw behind the mirro switch had me foxed for a few mins) and added some foam behind it, bolted it all up and rattle has gone.

Now what sub/amp to get?

OK, bit of daft question but I'm curious as to where do you put the CD in that unit, or is it via an autochanger?

It's MP3 compatible....no need for a changer ;)

I'm not familiar with it, but i assume the front is motorised and flips up to reveal the CD slot.

The front flips down to reveal the slot, it aint motorised though, manual jobbie but thats fine by me. My Alpine unit was motorised and it was a pain waiting for it to move.

Motorised = More to go wrong!

Less is more!

nice unit, almost bought one for my octy but decided the white lighting wouldnt suit the green from the dash etc so went for the DEH-P7500MP instead, its got more green illumination and the same features as the P77MP.

I had the same problems with extra oomph and the OE speakers so promptly swapped them for pioneer TS series units, all in all a nice sound, lived with that for a month or so and decided that the bass wasnt there anymore so dropped the 12" kicker and Alpine amp in the boot...

I also told SWMBO that i wasnt going down the sub / amp route again but it was going to waste in the shed and i wouldnt have got what i wanted for it ;)
