Fabia throttle sticking

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone suffered from a sticking throttle or choke? fabia 1.9Td1 2007.

Seems to sit at 1300-1400 RPM when warm, then blip accelerator to clear. Its getting problamatic especially when approcching a junction etc as I could go into crash mode befor to long

Any advice appreaciated.

You dont have a throttle or choke, could be a faulty pedal.

Do you mean it has a potentiometer on it - you heard of this before?

Best bet is to take it to the dealers bud as it's under warranty

Thanks - its going this week - dealer not heard of this problem before! so good job it is under warranty.

Hi

When the engine is sitting at the higher revs at idle, try putting your foot under the throttle pedal,(and lift it gently) if the revs drop the problem is likely the pedal.

Im sure Ive read this somewhere on here - maybe the Fabia 07 on section?

Hi Guys,

Have exactly the same problem with my 56 Fabia vRS. I have to stick my foot in behind the pedal and pull it back. Do you reckon its the pedal then?

This seems to be a known problem. I have just had the pedal replaced on a 56 tdi. with 4k. It was difficult to get the part but Skoda UK were very helpful.

This is more of a new fabia thing, no?! Maybe they changed the part on the later gen 1 fabias.
