On my Fabia (1.4 2000 model), if just found a switch which I've never noticed before. Its located inside a small compartment, just below the headlight switch. If I pull the switch forward, the 'ON' appears visible. If I push it, the switch is no longer visible.

What is it? I can't find any refernce in the manual!

It designed as a can cooler, but would also act as a can warmer in the winter

Yup unlike the glovebox which is always cooled, the can cooler is "chilled" at whatever temperature air is entering the cabin.

Details including illustration are included in the Seats and Stowage section at page 89 of the 05.05 edition of the Owner's Manual. I live and learn since I had assumed that the closeable driver's storage compartment could be chilled.

I thought it was chillable , if the aircon was set to cold and the button was pulled out to the 'on' position. Thats what is spelled out in the addendum to my manual - a seperate publication called "Supplement to owners manual - Technical Revisions 11-99 >" Page 5.

Glad to be of help , another ingenious little idea from Skoda , not that I've ever used it! (maybe if you could still get the little stubby cans of Bud...lol )

It can be chilled, assuming the car is blowing cold air into the car (ie in the summer months) I think it was Jason who tried to chill a can of coke in the middle of winter and ended up with a "ready to blow" can of coke!
