Hi all

Been very happy with my Felicia 1.3 lxi, (83000 miles now, goes thru mots like nun thru customs!)

Old girl going to be doing a lot more miles soon, so giving a little TLC...

Have a camber problem offside front wheel. Not enough to fail an mot, but enough to cause classic annoying drift to left and feathering inside edge of tyre way too quick.

Swivel hub unfortunately doesnt look like it will take a camber kit - appears to be a cast item that the shock just slots into - only one clamp bolt too.

Would love to fix this, but am really running out of ideas how the camber may be moved a bit.

Begging for crumbs of wisdom....

Sounds like bottom wishbone or strut has been damaged

Either the suspension has been deranged, or a bush or pivot is worn out.

Ken (if you're out there!) - is "deranged" a technical term ref the shock absorber? Wondering if closer examination of this might reveal a problem which can be fixed.

Some time ago the other half had a "quite firm" (ahem!) wheel to curb (central island)moment attempting to barge a pesky car transporter off the road (they're always creeping up on you and so hard to see...) - joking aside it was strong enough to blow the tyre.

Perhaps the shock or as Rigsby suggests the wishbone is bent, albeit both still functioning and satisfactory to mot testers etc.

Mmm. Think I've found a job to take up those spare afternoons!

Deranged, in this context, is a synonym of bent. Given the comment about the car transporter, I think I might be onto something. As for what might be bent, any or all, or even none, of the chassis rail, wishbone pickups, wishbone, wheel carrier, damper tube and top mount.

I'd not read too much into the tyre wall being ripped though; they're not designed to cope with being kerbed at speed.

Wishbones can be got for about 25 Quid. see jorily on ebay
