Good old limp home mode is becoming my best friend :finger:

Car has lasted just under 2 weeks after going into the dealer to be fixed. Happened twice today.

Has not felt the same since it came back from the dealers and seams very slow and steering rack is creaking as well now.

Oh well may have a look round local car dealer at the weekend

When not in limp mode is it boosting properly? (ie looks right on your boost gauge?).

Did you check the intercooler pipework mentioned by Jon/Paul etc. yourself?

Failing that I think it can only be those eyebrows you fitted the other week :(

they n75

or/and

clamp the map sensor with a diode.... get a manaul boost controller.. and bye bye limp -

assume car is jabba'd?

other option is get them to knock the boost down so that you dont trigger it.

Car is Jabba'd.

Only seams to have started since exhaust has been fitted.

Drives ok otherwise. Boost gauge reads nothing as still in box in bedroom  untill i get a delivery from Awesome.

Will be going back to jabba after i take delivery of there downpipe so will get them to have a look at it.

sorry to hear your still having problems matey, dont go getting rid though just cause of this... perhaps having the exhaust fitted with the other bits post jabba has unsettled the boost or something and is triggering the limp mode cause the ecu thinks its all going pete tong.

sooner you can get it down to jabba for a check and remap to pull the other bits into play the better i reckon.

Sounds like the exhaust must be causing higher boost levels. Mine was on before the car was remapped so I dont have this problem.

Could be that but catch 22 at the minute. Cannot get Jabba to remap it until they send me there dp so i can get it fitted :(

buggar !

shame there isnt an easy way of turning the boost down a smidge till you can get down there...

99.999999999999999999ETC % sure it's the N75.

Only

does it help if you turn down the boost controller(short term solution)?

Part of catch 22 Kenny. They are fitting the boost controller at the same time as the map tweak.

Looking through the forum the N75J has smoother operation so maybe that could be a solution if i need to replace the standard one anyway. Plus holds more boost so could give better results once mapped ?

excuse my ignorance but whats an N75J !?

This article will give you some idea of what the N75 valve - part description electro-change-over valve but better described a the wastegate regulator valve - does.

The standard one on the Octavia is the F version, part number 058 906 283 F.

What boost does the the vRS run as standard?

Think they are 0.7 bar then 1.0 bar when mapped.

anyone know what that is in PSI !?

i know i've asked this before Paul but someone was asking me again yesterday and all i could say was bar figures which didnt really help him !

N75J does allow boost to build up quicker and will give you around 0.1bar more boost.

I did hit the boost limiter pretty quickly...you can hear the turbo whistle pulsing.

Works well on remapped cars. However....

.....Jabba had a go at remapping with it and it made the car very rough.

That said

1.0 bar = 14.7 psi

0.7 bar = 10.29 psi

There is a useful converter - courtesy of the TDIClub - in our Links section here.

Spoke to Elton at Jabba and they say replace it with the standard part so ordered it from the dealer.

The downpipe is being made on thursday so hopefully get it soon. Going to leave the N75 as it is as there is a chance it is the map so Jabba will it if foc if it is found to be faulty on the day.
