Vibrating accelerator

Featured Replies

Anyone ever found that their accelerator vibrates (like a slight tingling on the foot) when, say, accelerating from 35-40 in fifth. Just noticed it since service.

I can't say I have ever noticed that on my 110TDi.

Mind you, you must be pretty low down in the revs if your accelerating between 35 and 40mph in 5th gear.

5th  too low down at that speed probally would get vibration.

As said probably speed a bit low for that gear - 5th might just be alright for just ticking along in steady traffic at that speed? Try using very slight accelerator pedal changes. If it still vibrates use another gear to accelerate - probably kinder to the clutch/flywheel/engine anyway. I'd use 5th but then I've got a 6th too!

I've not noticed anything like that, and I sometimes use 5th as low as 30mph (yes 30).

Seems to be more apparant now when accelerating in 3rd between 2500 and 3000 rpm. Also noticed a slight vibrating through the dash too. All since getting it back from the dealers. Car going back there on wednesday, so will ask then to check it out.
