Revised pressure hose

Featured Replies

Picking up the revised turbo to intercooler pressure hose at lunch (PN 06A 145 790C), as part of my 17705 fault finding process.

Just thought I'd check to see if there are any special tools or methods I need to change the hose. I'll have the car jacked up so no issue with access.

Guessing I'll need a nice new stainless jubilee clip for the bottom attachment, but how does the top attach to that steel tube? Also, anyone know what's so different about this new hose?

Cheers.

It looked like there was a cerclip inside of the new hose when I had mine fitted!

It also looked a little tougher/harder.

I've picked it up...

Nice bit of kit actually. Comes with a new heat shield jacket which is a bonus!

Fitting on the turbo end has a pressed steel fitting with a green double ribbed seal on it. Looks like its a turn and lock fitment sort of thing onto the steel tube.

I'll inspect old against new this weekend when i swap them over and let you know.

could you post a few pics of what your doing please as i have a persisting 17705 fault and is begging to annoy me

Yarp, will do this weekend..

Hi Bodge,

When i did mine, there was a clip that you pull off and have to put back on. Was a bit of a pain, scratched nuckles etc, but ok otherwise. The clip hold the two metal ends together.

Yep done it now. Cleaned it all up nicely ans slid her back together again!

Annoyingly.....

The pipe I took off was identical!! Barstuard! Same part number. My car's an '02, so I assumed it had the old part. Alas no. But I now have a lovely new hose and heat shield jacket, and I know that hose aint leaking.

Fun times.

Right, well it's been 400 miles & 5 days since I changed the hose and the 17705 error code has not come back yet.

I've done lots of full boost driving to test it, and still no code.

Looks like it's fixed for now! But don't hold me to that!!

I still get that funny thing where the dump valve randomly opens while pulling away. But I've learnt to drive around that. N249 is next on the list to sort that out.

Nurburgring on Friday should fully test the cars reliability, and test how big my balls are!
