yer but the VC wont fit the 1.9 8v pd head. Its the turbo off the pd170 2.0 16v tdi out of the octy and golf.

Doesnt fit the fabia i am affraid :(

can it not be remounted onto the standard manifold in some way?

The manifold and turbo are one unit.

The PD170 turbo is up the other way to the regular PD turbo with the turbo itself being above the manifold to make room for the DPF.

You know waaaaaay too much stuff my freind :thumbup:

Ps i knew that too, does that make me sad

It comes from changing a fair few turbos and DPF's ;)

Yer i can imagine they are a barsteward.

 I am getting good at the fabia pd turbo swaps, done a whole 2 in total now  and got at least another 2 to do before the summer :D

It changing a turbo a big or hard job?

straght forward, unbolt swap bolt up, straght swap

On a Fabia its not too difficult. Easiest ones are the 105 and 140 PD Octavia II's. Such a nice turbo to take out, all done from underneath easily done inside an hour.

Its easy if you know what you are doing ;)

As with anthing it can become a massive job if something goes not to plan. like a stud shearing off or a nut rounding.

theres not a massive amount of space behind there but its enough

Its not quite that easy mate

but yer something along those lines ;)

Does the off side drive shaft have to come off for that then?

I did the fabia's all from above apart from the oil drain pipe and the bottom bracket removal
