SPAX VSX

Featured Replies

Hi all, after nearly getting hold of a Koni STR.T kit and fitting it this week, it turned out that they were out of stock everywhere. Didn't stop POTN taking the money from the credit card on the 23 March and not telling me they weren't in stock until I phoned this Tuesday to ask where they were. Anyway, I'm now looking at other options. I didn't really want bright orange/yellow/red shocks so I thought about the SPAX VSX kit, which seems to be black and normal looking. Has anyone fitted these? I can't find any threads. It's for an Octavia Mark 1 1.8T hatch.

Cheers for any advice

Check Awesome GTI.... they reccomend Koni FSD dampers with H&R springs :)

I've got FSD's and H&R springs on my octy vRS and I can say that the set-up is great. Not sure if the colours are too subtle for you though if you're looking for red/yellow. The FSD dampers are gold and the H&R springs are a metallic dark grey. Classy but not in yer face.

Is anybody able to compare the FSD's to the Koni adjustables? I've had the Adjustables on a previous car and was very happy with them. Which actually provides the best handling improvement? I'd likely run them with the stock RS springs as I need the ground clearance.

So no one's used these SPAX VSXs then? I wish I could afford the Koni FSD and H&R springs but it works out about £££s more than I've got really. I might look into a standard new vRS kit. Thanks anyway :(

Have you tried demon-tweeks for the Koni adjustables? I was on the phone to them the other day and they hinted they could have them to you within 7 days..
