CD error

Featured Replies

Hi, 2nd post (after the hello one) :)

had my octy 2 about 18 months, and occationally get the CD error, now with a cd in. it plays but wont eject. Had this before and random pressing of buttons seemed to have ejected the CD. wont work this time. Had a trawl thru the forums as see a few other have the same issue but cant see a cure or trick. My nearest dealer is 40 miles away and is a pain in the rear to get to.

Any ideas how to get it out. I wouldnt mind as I have the 6 changer in the back but its the wifes CD, Mika! I hate mika!:thumbdwn:

btw its a 2.0 DSG L&K

Only option is to take it to dealer I'm afraid. They'll change the whole radio unit. It's a mechanical fault in the unit.

There's been a few similar cases here and the fix has always been the change of the whole unit.

Hit the cd player as hard as you can with the 'heel' of your hand directly above the cd slot in the middle of the head unit.

Mine used to have cd errors all the time except when the dealer looked at it. They won't replace the head unit without it being displayed.

Trust me this works, mine has never come up with another cd error in over 6 months. Its as if the mechanics stick and my method free's it off again!!

DIY That's what I'm shouting.............

I'd try for a new unit first if i were you.

Guve the thing a bloody good clout, as above. You've got nothing to lose, and you could save yourself a trip to the dealer!

It's £400+ - get it done under warranty
