Modified car insurance

Featured Replies

Right my renewal is coming up soon and all the prices i seam to be getting are totally mad!

Deal is 24, 5 NCB and S35 post code kept on the drive at night.

Standardish mods. Remap, full zhaust, intake, spoiler, wheels and arb.

The cheapest ive got so far is Flux at £1300  i wouldnt mind but i can get insured for £566 if it was standard.

Is this how much more modified car insurance costs over standard because at almost 3 times the price im tempted to go back to standard.

I just hope that Chris Knots can produce some magic when i call them otherwise the tools are coming out the garage

Big  for Chris Knott, both Octy`s with them..

adrian flux renewel was 800 for mine,

Rang chris knott and they came back with 638

so rang adrain flux back to cancel, they asked why and i said cos your ripping me off chris knott can do for 638, so they came back with £620

thats for a fabia vrs running a slightley little bit more power than a standard one, ;) all mods declared for 23yearold with 3 years NCB

I was with chris knot who were ok but i have had a £100+ hike this year

I phoned around

Green light and sky both said they wont insure me

So i ended up using adrian flux for roughly the same price as chris knot had offerd me for renewal in the first place

The way it is going having a modified car wont be worth it

May as well buy a faster car as standard:(

Sadly Greenlight wont insure a Fabia or Octavia fullstop!

Sky wouldnt insure me either so i guess they might be the same?

They are very good, and quoted me nearly half as much for a 2.3 V5 180BHP show car golf, than anyone else will insure me on my standard octavia 110TDi

Thanks for that mate will give them a go as well

I used to pay £600 to insure my heavily modifed Octy with Flux. Strangely they wanted more money for the standard S8 despite me being able to get cover for less elsewhere. Unfortunately though despite having 6 months left to run they would only refund £26!

Sounds about right.

I think you either get a good or a bad deal with flux and no middle ground really

I was insured with Adrian Flux last year on my octi vrs with remap/exhaust/filter and they wanted over 1k from me. I ended up moving to Admiral, 50% cheaper.
