Multi Funktion Steering wheel

Featured Replies

I have a 4 spoke Elegance leather steeringwheel

can i just move the cover and airbag to a 4 spoke multi steering wheel

The new steering wheel: 1Z0419091 6/h

Are all the connections already there or does i need a new stelring or cable?

I'm aware that i need some vag-com coding.

You'll need a new aribag wiring loom but the existing airbag is fine. You may also need a new steering controller that supports Multifunction.

I assume the steering wheel is complete with buttons and the controller in the wheel itself.

The Steering Wheel looks to have everything installed.

The Loom - 1K0 971 584 C is around 35 Euro

The Controller 1K0 953 549 AQ or AK s around 140 Euro

You can check the part number with VAG-COM.

It is fitted under the steering column around the area of the reach/rake adjustment.

Yes it must be a 'AK' module i need

I have a 'AF' module and a 'AQ' module doesn't support multi func. wheel

Yes it does. I have AQ module and it works just perfectly.

Did you already have the AQ in or did you put it in yourself ?

I had an 'F' ending control module, so I had to buy a new one and change that. I did the whole steering wheel swap myself, it was pretty easy. It took something around 50 - 60 minutes to do. Including coding of the new controller.
